The future is now.

Present Tense future is an acknowledgment that artistic learners are members of an ever-mediated culture. That iPods and camera phones and YouTube and Facebook have become ubiquitous elements of contemporary society. That we’re experiencing the most enormous change in history. That learners can have a profound influence upon one another. And that today’s students, using a variety of visual media and methods, are defining for themselves what artistic learning is.

Designers are often agents for change, particularly in our ever-changing world. Within this world, things we make have great personal and human value, revealing much about ourselves. Present Tense future examines curricular components that emphasize exploration of identity, the authenticity of constructed image, and the spirit of collaborative process in the pursuit of artistic meaning, purpose, and intention.
